Real life couples reviews

"Once all the dust has settled, and the thrill of the big day is a delightful memory,
it is all those wonderful people who helped make the day happen that jump to the forefront of my mind and none more so than Roz who has left a lasting and most special impression on us.
Calm, gentle and most organised, we felt confident and at ease right from the off. Her clear and very reassuring guidance through the day was amazing!
It left us desperate to get the rings on our fingers so we could be reminded of that wonderful bond now firmly wrapped around our fingers and our hearts. "

Andrew & Ros; Married October 2017
"We had never even thought about making our own wedding rings until stumbling across an advertisement for Roz in a wedding magazine. She has been amazing start to finish, email communications were easy and clear.
Our consultation gave us some great ideas and more clarity on what we wanted and the experience day was something
we will always remember.
Friendly and welcoming, plenty of tea and biscuits to keep us going and the professional guidance gave us the confidence to make something truly special and individual.
A day we will not forget and an experience we will recommend to anyone.
Thank you Roz "

Lizzie & Jason; married May 2018
"We had an amazing day creating
our wedding rings.
Roz is lovely. It was a calm, yet fun environment, and we knew instantly that we were

in really good hands.
We’d chosen a rather ambitious design for our rings, and it certainly felt like a good days work!
We kept going until they were finished, and we couldn’t be happier with the results.
I cannot recommend this experience enough.
Not only making your wedding rings yourself to be one of a kind, but to have the memory of the day itself.
Thank you Roz!"

Fraser and Tess; married June 2018

"My wife purchased the experience with Roz as a present ahead of our wedding,
and the experience was wonderful.
My wife and I both really enjoyed making the rings - and were (pleasantly) surprised about
how much of the work we did.
It was very much a case of Roz showing us how to do it all, rather than doing most of it and us contributing.
The finished rings therefore felt very special and personal.
The rings themselves look fantastic and the service was top notch.
I would really recommend this as a lovely activity to do and a way to

make your wedding rings even more
special and treasured. "

Chris & Rachel; Married September 2017
"There are many wonderful things you can do to make your wedding the most amazing and memorable day of your lives,
but whatever you do and whatever you spend on it, it will be over once the day is done.
You can also spend fortunes getting the most beautiful and sparkly wedding rings for each other, but there is a far far better way of doing it.
We discovered Rosalyn when she had just started out, and we were the first couple through her workshop.
We had such a fun day learning about the metalwork and crafting each other's rings.
By the end of the day we had two (actually three because we made a silver one as a keepsake for my step-son)

beautiful rings to give each other at our wedding.
A year on I find myself often looking at the ring on my finger, knowing that every part of it was lovingly crafted by nobody but my wonderful wife, for me, and that is something that I shall keep every day, forever.
I genuinely think that you are missing out on something incredibly special if you do not go to see Rosalyn for your rings.  "

Wedding ring making step by step
All of the techniques needed to make your own wedding rings are aimed at a beginner level.
Scroll through the photos below to see the key stages of making your wedding rings using simple hand tools.
  1. Rosalyn's Emporium make your own wedding rings
    Step 3
Using a raw hide mallet you will hammer the metal around the ring mandrel at the size to suit your finger.
  2. Rosalyn's Emporium make your own wedding rings
    Step 1
We start with a length of gold or silver wire that matches the circumference of your wedding ring finger.
  3. Rosalyn's Emporium make your own wedding rings
    Step 5
Using a jewellers saw you will cut the metal to remove any surplus until the ring fits your finger perfectly.
  4. Rosalyn's Emporium make your own wedding rings
    Step 6
Cutting where the ends meet will ensure they fit perfectly together & create an invisible seam of solder.
  5. Rosalyn's Emporium make your own wedding rings
    Step 7
Borax flux is painted around the join area to keep it clean & a small piece of solder is added. The hand torch is used to melt the solder fusing the ends together.
  6. Rosalyn's Emporium make your own wedding rings
    Step 4
Using a hand torch I will heat up the metal so it is soft to hammer in to a circle. This is called annealing.
  7. Rosalyn's Emporium make your own wedding rings
    Step 9
The round ring is now an even satin finish & all scratches have been removed by the emery papers.
  8. Rosalyn's Emporium make your own wedding rings
    Step 8
You will use a half round file, raw hide mallet & wooden buff sticks wrapped in varying grades of emery paper to make the ring perfectly round & smooth ready for polishing.
  9. Rosalyn's Emporium make your own wedding rings
    Step 10
The ring is polished inside & out using rouge. A quick wash in soapy water & the ring is finished. Textures can be applied using different hammers or left plain.
  10. Rosalyn's Emporium make your own wedding rings
    Step 2
Using masking tape we will mark on the ring mandrel where your finger size is so you can start to form your wedding ring.
