Wedding ring making step by step
Scroll through the photos below to see the key stages of making your wedding rings
  1. Rosalyn's Emporium make your own wedding rings
    Step 3
Using a raw hide mallet you will hammer the metal around the ring mandrel at the size to suit your finger.
  2. Rosalyn's Emporium make your own wedding rings
    Step 1
We start with a length of gold or silver wire that matches the circumference of your wedding ring finger.
  3. Rosalyn's Emporium make your own wedding rings
    Step 5
Using a jewellers saw you will cut the metal to remove any surplus until the ring fits your finger perfectly.
  4. Rosalyn's Emporium make your own wedding rings
    Step 6
Cutting where the ends meet will ensure they fit perfectly together & create an invisible seam of solder.
  5. Rosalyn's Emporium make your own wedding rings
    Step 7
Borax flux is painted around the join area to keep it clean & a small piece of solder is added. The hand torch is used to melt the solder fusing the ends together.
  6. Rosalyn's Emporium make your own wedding rings
    Step 4
Using a hand torch I will heat up the metal so it is soft to hammer in to a circle. This is called annealing.
  7. Rosalyn's Emporium make your own wedding rings
    Step 9
The round ring is now an even satin finish & all scratches have been removed by the emery papers.
  8. Rosalyn's Emporium make your own wedding rings
    Step 8
You will use a half round file, raw hide mallet & wooden buff sticks wrapped in varying grades of emery paper to make the ring perfectly round & smooth ready for polishing.
  9. Rosalyn's Emporium make your own wedding rings
    Step 10
The ring is polished inside & out using rouge. A quick wash in soapy water & the ring is finished. Textures can be applied using different hammers or left plain.
  10. Rosalyn's Emporium make your own wedding rings
    Step 2
Using masking tape we will mark on the ring mandrel where your finger size is so you can start to form your wedding ring.
